heater control panel problems...

ok i bought my new civic hatch today, and when i turned the knob from cold to hot, it clicked and got stuck on the hot, now i tried to turn it to cold and it clicked and wont work now, it stays on hot, how do i fix this or do i need a new one...if so does anyone have any for sale for a 89 Si (has A/C control switch if that matters...)

Are you saying you turn the knob but the heat setting doesn't change? Pull the knob off the control shaft. The knob is most likely broken. About 3 or 4 bucks at the dealer.

ok, i think i understand now, and no my climate control setup won't work. the knob is connected in the back to a mechanism that pulls and pushes on a wire. what you should do is if it isn't the knob that's broken, take your console off and take the screws that hold the climate control out so you can look at the back/top of it..i'm thinking maybe the mechanism broke or maybe the wire came loose? anyways, take the controls loose and you might get a better idea of what's wrong. if you have to change controls, those little wire things are a pain to reconnect..let us know

yeah sounds like the arm on the control panel too. I'm betting it was really tight to move it to begin with. Yoru gonna want to fix the problem, and that's the valve in the engine compartment at the firewall.
